It’s been quite a while since I did my first tier list. That came nearly fourteen months ago (Jan. 2021) I believe, when I ranked the NHL’s Reverse Retro uniforms.
Today, I’ve decided to re-visit that concept, but instead, I’ll be ranking the outdoor jerseys that have been worn/will be worn in games between November 2003 all the way up to, and including, the 2022 Heritage Classic on March 14th in Hamilton, Ontario.
But first some notes. When the puck drops on the 2022 Heritage Classic between the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario, it will be the 35th time that the National Hockey League has stepped outdoors. Those 35 games include thirteen Winter Classics, twelve Stadium Series, six Heritage Classics, two NHL at Lake Tahoe, one Centennial Classic and one NHL 100 Classic.
My list will feature jerseys from 33 of those 35 games. The two I am not including are from the NHL at Lake Tahoe games. This is because the jerseys worn in that game were not made specifically for that event. Boston, Philadelphia, Colorado and Vegas all wore their Reverse Retro uniforms for those games.
Anyways, let’s get to my list!
