That’s a wrap on the 2021 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. Although Canada didn’t come out on top, I feel like this tournament was great. Some really intense hockey from Christmas Day until January 5th.
As I listed, there was a quite a few players who caught my eye during the tournament, including 16-year-old Simon Nemec of Slovakia. He isn’t draft eligible until 2022, and I would expect he’ll go somewhere in the top 10, maybe top 15.
One player who disappointed me the most was Alexander Holtz of Sweden. Known for his elite shot, and offensive ability, he only managed to put up one goal in five games.
That’s it for my coverage of International Hockey until May/June when the 2021 IIHF Men’s World Hockey Championships take place in Riga, Latvia, and Minsk, Belarus.
