The National Hockey League’s 2026-27 season is set to get underway in less than 50 days and while there’s been quite a bit to talk about on the trade and signing front this summer, we’ll save that for another article later this month.
Today, we’re going to take a look at a new league-wide jersey program that’s coming to the National Hockey League this fall, with some unique designs and interesting information coming out from jersey insider Icethetics in recent months.
Fanatics, NHL Teaming Up for New League-Wide Jersey Program for 2026-27 Season
As we turned the page to 2026, a post began circulating on Reddit that indicated the National Hockey League and their uniform supplier, Fanatics, were gearing up for a new league-wide jersey program for the 2026-27 campaign.
The jersey program, which is reportedly called “Hometown Remix“, is fairly self-explanatory. All 32 teams will release a jersey with elements that relate to their city/locale. A release date hasn’t been announced just yet for the Hometown Remix jerseys, but expectation is that it’ll likely come closer to opening night in September.
This won’t be the first league-wide jersey program that the National Hockey League has conducted. In 2020, a few months before the shortened 2021 season, the NHL and adidas unveiled their league-wide jersey program dubbed “Reverse Retro”, which saw teams put a spin on one of their retro uniforms from their franchise’s history. During the 2022-23 campaign, a second version of the Reverse Retro jersey program was launched with all new designs from the league’s 32 clubs.
With that said, let’s take a look at the information revealed by Icethetics for each of the National Hockey League’s 32 franchises, starting with the Anaheim Ducks.
Hometown Remix: Team-by-Team Info
Anaheim Ducks
If you’re a fan of the Mighty Ducks logo, which returned as the club’s primary logo ahead of the 2024-25 season, then you’re in luck. According to Icethetics, the Ducks will be going with a green jersey for their Hometown Remix. The shade of green that the Ducks will reportedly be wearing is the same as the uniforms worn in the Disney movie “Mighty Ducks.”
Earlier this month, a green trucker hat with the Mighty Ducks logo, featuring different colours than worn on the primary jerseys, was leaked through a Reddit user, citing a link from New Era. It’s not confirmed if this is the logo/colour scheme, but given the information from Icethetics, it’s safe to say it probably is.

Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins are reportedly set to wear a brown base colour for their Hometown Remix uniform. Over 100 years ago, the Bruins donned a brown uniform for their first-ever season in the National Hockey League. Icethetics reports that it’s going to be a collegiate style jersey, with potentially a wordmark across the chest.
Buffalo Sabres
For the Buffalo Sabres, initial reports stated that their Hometown Remix jersey will be navy blue. The Sabres are no stranger to navy blue, wearing it on their home uniforms from 2006 to 2020. However according to Icethetics, he’s hearing it’ll be a royal blue uniform with a recoloured goat head logo on the front of the jersey.
Calgary Flames
The Calgary Flames have never strayed too far away from the colour red and they won’t for their Hometown Remix jerseys. Their Hometown Remix sweaters will be red and reportedly have a tribute to the Saddledome, Calgary’s home arena. The 2026-27 season will mark Calgary’s final season at the Saddledome before moving to their new home, Scotia Place, in the fall of 2027.
Carolina Hurricanes
Carolina, the defending Stanley Cup champions, will be wearing a grey uniform, according to Icethetics. The Hurricanes wore grey as the primary colour of their first Reverse Retro jersey during the 2021 season, with the Hartford Whalers logo/colours, but this one isn’t expected to feature their predecessor. “Strutin’ Stormy”, Carolina’s shoulder patch, is set to feature as the logo on the front of their Hometown Remix jersey.
Chicago Blackhawks
Coming off their 100th anniversary, the Chicago Blackhawks are looking to make it back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2020. The Blackhawks are going with a very bold look this season for their Hometown Remix – green. Chicago’s primary and secondary logos have traces of green in it, but this will mark the first time they’ll wear the colour in full.
Colorado Avalanche
Much like both of their Reverse Retro jerseys, the Colorado Avalanche will once again be wearing white, this time for their Hometown Remix uniform. Not much else is known about Colorado’s Hometown Remix at this time, but it would be pretty cool to see them use the Yeti foot logo, seen on the shoulders of their jerseys from 1995 to 2015, as the primary logo.
Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets are set to wear grey as the base colour of their Hometown Remix jersey. It’ll be the first time Columbus dons grey as a primary colour after having silver/grey in their logo since entering the National Hockey League back in 2000.
Dallas Stars
The Dallas Stars will also be wearing white for their Hometown Remix jersey. Dallas donned white as the primary colour for their first Reverse Retro jersey and to be completely honest, it was one of the worst, in my opinion. Hopefully this time around there will be a bit more effort put into the jersey.
Detroit Red Wings
Not a ton is know about Detroit’s Hometown Remix jersey other than the primary colour will be red, which they’ve worn since 1932 when they changed their name to “Red Wings”. It wouldn’t surprise me if Detroit turned to their pre-Red Wings days for an inspiration for this jersey, perhaps a Falcons-esque wordmark on the front or the Olde English ‘D’ worn on the front of their inaugural uniforms in 1926-27.
Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton’s Hometown Remix jersey will be a black base, Icethetics said. His sources revealed that it’ll have similar elements to that of the team’s two-toned navy & orange third jersey worn between 2019 and 2024. Icethetics added that it’s possible we could see a neon orange accent colour with this uniform.
Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers are one of two teams that have had their Hometown Remix jersey leak and to call this one bold would be an understatement. Florida’s jersey is pink, which is a first for any team in the National Hockey League. It gives off Miami Vice vibes, with accent colours of orange, yellow, as well as navy blue. Have a look for yourselves below:

Los Angeles Kings
The Los Angeles Kings came into the National Hockey League with a very unique colour scheme – gold (yellow) and forum blue (purple). Fans of the team love those colours and have asked for them to return. Those fans will get their wish granted with the Hometown Remix jersey, which is reportedly a purple base colour. The logo for Los Angeles’ Hometown Remix jersey is still TBD.
Minnesota Wild
Minnesota will be going with a black base colour for their Hometown Remix jersey, according to Icethetics, with green and silver accent colours.. In an update video in late June, Icethetics revealed details of the logo that will be worn on that uniform. It’ll be essentially the same logo, but instead of the sun, it’ll be a crescent moon surrounded by stars.
Montreal Canadiens
Initially, the Montreal Canadiens’ Hometown Remix jersey was listed as blue, but the Icethetics heard it was going to be white, so it was a bit of a mystery on how it would all shake out. In that update video, Icethetics shared that Montreal’s jersey will be and I quote “a look absolutely unlike anything in their history.” It’ll be mostly white and red, with a bit of silver too and “very little blue.”
Nashville Predators
Navy blue returns to Nashville as the base colour of their Hometown Remix jersey. The colour was worn as the base for their jerseys form their inaugural year in 1998-99 all the way up to 2010-11. Navy returned for their 2022 Stadium Series jersey, which in my opinion, wasn’t a great uniform. Sorry, Nashville fans! According to Icethetics’ update video in June, the jersey will be “Western-themed.”
New Jersey Devils
The New Jersey Devils might be saying goodbye to their “JERSEY’ third uniforms, but the base colour of black is sticking around, at least for the 2026-27 campaign. Icethetics reports that New Jersey’s Hometown Remix will be black. Other than that, there’s not much information known, but I personally would love to see an inverted version of 2024 Stadium Series jerseys.
New York Islanders
The New York Islanders were the other club that saw their Hometown Remix jersey leak early. The Fisherman logo, which was worn from 1995-97, as well as on their second Reverse Retro jersey, returns for the Hometown Remix. It’s a white base for the Islanders, with waves of light blue, orange and navy on the bottom. Take a look below:

New York Rangers
For the New York Rangers, they’ll reportedly be donning a navy blue jersey for their Hometown Remix. A navy blue jersey is quite interesting given the Rangers introduced a third jersey with that as the base colour in December 2023. According to Jersey Nerds on X, a diagonal “New York” will be worn across the jersey, along with glitter and a Lady Liberty patch on the chest.
Ottawa Senators
Like their home jerseys, the Ottawa Senators will be wearing a black base for their Hometown Remix sweater. Other than that, it’s a bit of a mystery, but I think it would be a red “O” on the front would look great. The Senators have worn an “O” on their jerseys in the past – 2011-2017 black alternate, 2014 off-white Heritage Classic and 2017 red NHL 100 Classic. None of those jerseys had a red “O”, so perhaps now is the time to go for it.
Philadelphia Flyers
According to Icethetics, the Philadelphia Flyers were initially thought to be wearing black for their Hometown Remix sweater, but it turns out it’ll actually be dark grey as the base. It should be a unique look for the Flyers, who haven’t worn anything other than orange, white and black in their franchise’s history.
Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins appear to be returning to the colour they first wore as an accent on their jerseys when they entered the league in the late-1960s – navy blue. From 1977 to 1980, the Penguins donned a navy blue jersey before rebranding to black and gold. It wasn’t until the 2011 Winter Classic that the Penguins brought back navy blue as a primary colour and they’ll do so once again for their Hometown Remix.
St. Louis Blues
A bit of a confusing one, even for Icethetics, the St. Louis Blues are reportedly planning on wearing a black jersey for their Hometown Remix, which will mark a first in franchise history. The Blues have never had black as part of any of their uniforms, even as an accent colour, so it’s going to be interesting to see what this one ends up looking like. Icethetics reported in his update video that the St. Louis Blues will be bringing back their Arch logo from their alternate jersey worn from 2008 to 2016, albeit with different colours. Blue striping and silver trim will also feature on their Hometown Remix jersey.
San Jose Sharks
The San Jose Sharks aren’t going with a different primary colour for their Hometown Remix, it’s set to be Pacific Teal, like their home jerseys, according to Icethetics. The logo for San Jose’s Hometown Remix is still up in the air, but if I had a say, I think they should wear the “Cali Fin” logo. It would look really good on a teal base.
Seattle Kraken
Navy blue is set to be Seattle’s Hometown Remix base colour. Deep Navy Blue, as it’s called in the National Hockey League’s style guide, has been worn as the primary colour of Seattle’s home jersey and was also featured on their Reverse Retro sweaters during the 2022-23 campaign.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Black is a colour that Tampa Bay Lightning fans are very familiar with and that’ll be the base of their Hometown Remix this coming season. The Lightning wore black on their dark uniforms from 1992 to 2011 before their blue and white rebrand ahead of the 2011-12 season. Since then, black has returned for three different alternate jerseys.
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly set to wear a beige/vintage white base colour for their Hometown Remix jersey. Earlier today, the Maple Leafs announced some of their theme nights for the 2026-27 season and among them was “Remix Nights”, with the slogan “Go Back in Time With A Twist.”
The graphic, which can be seen below, features nine games, presumably when the Maple Leafs will wear their Hometown Remix jerseys, with the first coming on November 7th against the Montreal Canadiens. In the top right corner of the graphic, Toronto’s primary logo from 1970 to 2016 can be seen. Perhaps it’ll be worn on their Hometown Remix jerseys this fall.

Utah Mammoth
The Utah Mammoth are reportedly going to wear sky blue or “mountain blue” for their Hometown Remix jerseys, which is one of the accent colours that was unveiled upon their arrival in Salt Lake City back in 2024. Icethetics shared that it’ll be a tusk-centered design.
Vancouver Canucks
Like their Pacific Northwest rivals, the Vancouver Canucks will also be wearing deep navy blue as the primary colour for their Hometown Remix jersey this season. The Canucks have worn navy blue as a base colour before, which came 2022-23 for their second Reverse Retro jersey.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights will be wearing a black Hometown Remix jersey, with Icethetics hearing from some reports that the uniform may be some similarities to their second Reverse Retro jersey, which featured a glow-in-the-dark diagonal “VEGAS” wordmark.
Washington Capitals
Washington’s Hometown Remix jersey will reportedly be somewhere between navy and royal blue, according to Icethetics. Icethetics reports that he’s hearing it’ll be a similar blue to that worn on the Screaming Eagle jersey worn from 1995 to 2000. He also believes that we’ll most likely see black and bronze also featured on the jersey.
Winnipeg Jets
That brings us to the last of the NHL’s 32 clubs – the Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg’s jersey is set to be primarily navy blue, with Northern Lights-inspired elements and accent colours. This is one Hometown Remix jersey that I’m personally really looking forward to seeing.
As we inch closer to the start of the 2026-27 season, expect more teasers and maybe even some more leaks of Hometown Remix jerseys ahead of the full launch in September.
